Delivering Pizza becoming Deadly in Pennsylvania
In Philadelphia, men trying to earn money to support themselves and their children are being gunned down by worthless punks for a few bucks.
And the gunlaws of Pennsylvania have had zero effect.
I’d like to see this scenario:
“Welcome to Pizza Barn. We want our customers to know that we put safety first. Please be advised that our delivery men and women are armed and fully prepared to protect themselves. Now, for our daily specials, press 1.”
GUN LAWS DON’T WORK

Gun laws … what gun laws… I live in Philly I own an AK and an AR that I bought IN philly. I also have my LTCF you would call it a concealed carry permit.
In fact there is a big story here where a student shot another student in self-defense. Look it up.
Get your facts straight and remove this post.
I’m glad you can purchase firearms in Philly, as it should be. My point was that PA guns laws did nothing to stop criminals from killing two innocent delivery guys. Thanks for the mention about the student arrested in the shooting – I had just posted something about that in my next post.
This is very confusing. Your point would elude to the idea that since PA has lax firearm regulations that more regulations should be in place. The fact of the matter is criminals will find weapons and methods for killing regardless of the laws. They operate outside of the law and thus preventative laws (like restrictions on firearms) have little to no effect on preventing crime.
If you consider NJ for example with many firearms restrictions crime still runs rampant in the inner city. This would suggest that violent crime can and will occur with or without firearms regulations and are ultimately irrelevant at curbing crime.
In order to curb crime you must control the risk to gain ratio for various types of crimes. For example make a law that pizza delivery guys can take no more then 10-20 dollars with them as they leave the shop to make their deliveries. Such a law would not really be punishable outside of perhaps fines to the pizza shop. The law would serve to be a marketing tool to criminals that robbing a pizza delivery man or woman isn’t very profitable. In addition make another marketing law that increases the punishment for robbing a pizza guy.
I’m not sure why you are confused.
Though admittedly, Pennsylvania has firearms restrictions that are not as harsh as many other states, I would venture to say that some or all of the following Pennsylvania firearms laws were broken in connection with the shooting deaths of the two pizza delivery drivers.
It is unlawful for a person under 18 to possess a handgun.
It is unlawful for the following to possess any firearm:
• Any person convicted of a crime of violence.
Any person who is a fugitive, or has been convicted of a controlled substance offense punishable by more than two years.
It is unlawful to carry a handgun, rifle or shotgun upon the public streets or upon any public property in Philadelphia unless the person carrying is licensed to carry firearms or is exempt from licensing requirements.
Would you say that these gun laws are working?
Wow. So Jon, you’re saying you prefer restricting the behavior of law abiding citizens in order to reduce crime? That’s what gun laws do. Your idea would only mean less dough for the mugger or more pizza guys hit in order to make up for the lower take per robbery. It’s ease, accessability and risk of exposure that determines the victim more than the take. Sure, they want as much as they can with each incident, but they’ll take a single dollar if they won’t suffer repurcussions.
Denying the law-abiding is always the wrong way to go. If a pizza guy wants to enact your idea, that’s his business. But a law mandating it? Not on your life. They’ve already restricted his ability to ward off such scumbags, now you want to restrict them even more. No sir. Lift the restrictions now in place on the law abiding and crime will fall. Happens all the time when gun laws are repealed.
Well that should be… delivery man are also in danger so they need protection. Actually, If possible they should also be set for training in self defense say martial arts so that even if they don’t carry guns with them they still have the capability to protect themselves and a swell as their products.
I totally agree with you, Ronald. I think all law abiding citizens should be as well trained in self defense as possible.
